Can you believe we've been here for almost 6 months now? And that today was the first time I tried a Luxemburgerli? I've read about them all over the Swiss Expat Blogs and have seen them but never got around to actually buying some. I've been meaning to for a really long time now. So today after work, on my way home, I bought some at the Hauptbahnhof at the Sprüngli chocolate shop.
I love the pretty box they come in. Wrapped in tissue paper. And I especially love the sticker that says you should eat it as soon as possible! Click on the photo to enlarge so you can read it.)
I told the lady behind the counter (in German! I'm so proud of myself) that I haven't tried these before and if she could give me a mischung (mixture). She also gave me a brochure with pictures of the many many flavours of Luxemburgerli.
Oh, you're wondering if I like them? I do! They're so good... Dainty little meringue like biscuits with the most creamy filling inside.... Mmmmm... There are still two left in the box. They are for Andre. He is such a slow eater of sweet things. I think he does it on purpose to see if I can control myself. Sometimes I can't and then he loses out.
Lyk alles wonderlik, behalwe vir daai gif-groene!
ReplyDeletehaha! Ja dis nogal waar ne! Maar hy was pistachio en onskadelik! Die middelste een met goue shimmer was champagne en my favourite.

ReplyDeleteWell I'm glad these Luxemburgelis are no longer a mystery to you :)
