Week 4

This week's portrait was taken on the day she turned 3 months old. She's starting to enjoy tummy time for short periods now. Even moving her legs while lying on her tummy. Those little arms and legs are just not quite strong enough to lift that tummy and move yet!

I came across 52 Project on another blog. Basically I will be posting a picture of Isabella every week of the year. That shouldn't be too hard as I take loads of pictures of her every week. Mainly with my iPhone, but now I'm hoping this project will finally get me into learning how to use Andre's camera to take better pictures.

I decided to do this at the end of last year so thought I'd be ready for the first week of the year, but as usual time flies and I only now realised it's already the 4th week of the year and I haven't started this project. I dug through the photos I've taken this month and chose the best portraits I could find. Now hopefully you will not only see Isabella grow through the year in these photos but also my photography skills!

Here's the first one. I love watching her sleep. This one was one night after her 10pm feed. Aren't those lips just so kissable!

Learning something new with every baby outing

My first grocery shopping trip with Isabella I had her in her pram with a basket over my arm and her baby bag over my other arm. I was limited to what I could fit in the basket and not buying any items that were too heavy. We do do most of our grocery shopping online monthly but occasionally we need a few bits or I just need a reason to get out the house.

Today was such a day. Isabella has really reached the limit with her 0-3month vests. I am now fastening only the middle of the 3 poppers between her legs to give her a bit of extra room! So I had the excuse of going to buy her new vests and also a few other grocery items.

This time I got a trolley and put her with her car seat inside the shopping trolley. But it still didn't leave me with much room in the trolley for shopping... I got a few things at least without getting a sore arm from carrying a basket. While in the shop I passed a lady also with a baby in a car seat but using a different trolley. It had a flat surface on top of the usual trolley to place the baby car seat so it didn't take up space in the trolley where you would put the groceries. On my way out I had a look for these among the other trolleys. Now I know for next time! Whether it's where to change her nappies or feed her when out and about or discovering new shopping trolleys, I really learn something new each time!
