Gardening weekend 2

Last weekend after we ran the Race for Life we came home, made a delicious big lunch, and then did gardening. As though we weren't tired enough already! Jamie brought a hedge trimmer and the guys felt very manly chopping everything right off to the ground. I had to run around trying to shout above the noise of the trimmer to save some plants and keep them from destroying everything. Andre really enjoys taking this whole garden apart!

Although I now think it all looks even worse, it was needed. There were some weeds as tall as I am. Ok, not quite, but close. I was scared to have to get in there to try and get them out. Who knows what might have been hiding in there.

Now hopefully this weekend, if it doesn't keep raining, we can dig out the roots of those large weeds and start planting something pretty.

That there is the area I'm hoping to start a little vegetable and herb garden. I know it will take some work so I still need to do some research to see if I'll be able to maintain it. But if I do I will carry on posting pictures of my growing garden.
