The Idle Hour

Yesterday (Monday) was a Bank Holiday here in England. Even though I'm not working yet I still enjoyed having a long weekend.

On Saturday we drove to London to visit friends. We went to dinner at a pub called The Idle Hour. It's a lovely, cosy pub. Not many tables so at first we sat at the bar waiting for a free table. The food was really good and most ingredients are organic. We noticed the many clocks on the walls, none of them set to the correct time. Only when we left did we connect this with the name of the pub!

It's not easy to find this pub and it's actually known as the most difficult pub to find. You need to follow some pedestrian paths to get there. They've also got a lovely garden for sunnier days and have received many awards from Best Gastropub to Best Loved Local Pub and Best Late Night Bar.

  1. I would certainly make that trip out, just to find that Idle Hour pussycat!

  2. The cat was very sweet. He (or she?) came in when the rush hour was over to find an empty chair.
