Marlow: Almost forgot one last post about the weekend

I was looking through my photos now to post on facebook and I was thinking I can't remember choosing any of the photos we took in Marlow to post on my blog. So I came back here to check, and no, I totally missed that part of the weekend. So here it is now.

On Saturday after going to the South African shop in Farnborough and after dropping all the shopping off at home, we drove to Marlow. We went there once after we just arrived here, but it was pretty grey still back then.

So on Saturday because it was so hot, we wanted to be outdoors. We went for a walk along the Thames river at Marlow.

There were lots of people out. In boats on the water. Walking. Soaking up the sun. It was very hot.

Before we started our river walk and as we were walking through the town from the car park, I went in to a clothing store because I just had to buy something cooler to wear. I didn't pack much summer clothes. I didn't think it would take us this long to move into our own place so it's all still in boxes.

So on this hot Saturday I was wearing jeans. I went and bought some 3/4 pants (I needed new ones anyway). Then went into a coffee shop where I knew where the bathroom was. See that way I don't have to look lost and feel guilty for only using their bathroom to change. I'm like that. I walked straight through as though I was a customer. And I felt much cooler when I came out of there.

So on we went towards the river. Luckily there was a long line by the ice cream truck so we kept going.

There are these huge houses along the river with great big lawns down to the water and I was just saying how perfect this would be for a wedding when we saw a couple in a boat drinking champagne. Romantic... And later we saw the wedding guests outside on one of these lawns.

Andre spotted two kingfishers and managed to get a picture of one of them. They are very small and very fast so it's not easy to get them on camera.

Apparently you can walk all along the Thames so we will be doing more of these walks through other parts when the sun is out again.
