I've been a bit lazy with the blogging lately. It's taken a bit of effort getting back into work mode after such a lovely holiday. But here are the last days of last year!
I had my birthday on the 29th. My 30th birthday! We went for dinner at an Afghan restaurant in Munich which was really great. The food was delicious and it was interesting to experience something different. The restaurant is called Nigin, close to Marienplatz but you kind of have to know about it or you won't find it. Or if you do you might not go in. But do go. It's not a big restaurant and when we arrived we were the only people there for a while. It was a Tuesday night and a little off the main tourist street so I thought that's why. But it soon filled up completely. Go look for this one if you're in Munich!

How did this teapot make it into an Afghan restaurant? Could they tell we're from Africa?
New Years eve we spent at home in Munich. It was just too cold and we've done enough walking around town. We made sushi and then watched the fireworks from the balcony at midnight. Quite a display!
I wish you all a fantastic 2010. And a special thought to the teachers in South Africa who went back to school today to start the new school year.
Ai die sushi was baie, baie lekker!! En ek het nie geweet daar was so baie vis oor nie - sê nog vir Juergen ons moet seker maar die stukkie uitgooi, wat maak ons nou daarmee? Ek het gedog dis net so 'n repie, was egter genoeg vir ons 2 vir 'n aandete! Het dit in die pan gebak, was baie lekker!

ReplyDeleteHandsome looking sushi!!! My slicing always turns them into goggly-go mess, which is such a shame.
The slicing can be tricky, but we've learnt that the sharpest knife in the house is needed and dip it in water after each slice.
