Last Sunday was a lovely sunny day, although only 3C! We went to visit mom in the office yesterday and Andre wanted to know why they still have typewriters. - To save paper and time as you can type a reply onto a fax straight away and send it back. On Sunday afternoon we drove about an hour north to Nürnberg where there is a big Christmas Market. Bigger than in Munich. A year ago we went to the NEC (National Exhibition Centre) Bike Show, my first time then, and there was snow along the road as we drove the 2 hours north to Birmingham. I just started painting the wardrobe this morning. This is where I'm at now: Sanded and wiped down all four drawers with white spirits and the first one has a coat of primer on already. Now to finish the other three off with primer and then wait 4 hours for it to dry before painting. With all the drying time between coats it will probably take all week for me to finish the entire wardrobe.

It took me a while to find out that these are poppies. I thought it was a weed, but like I do with most new plants coming up in our garden, I gave it a chance to see what it turns into. On Saturday we went to a BMW motorbike open day. They were letting people have test rides on the bikes, there were competitions, the BMW bike racing driver Leon Haslam (also pictured below) was there for an interview and BMW's stunt rider Mattie Griffin did a stunt show. Andre's been asking for a Victoria Sponge Cake for a while now and so on Monday I decided to bake one. It was my first time making this cake and it turned out so yummy! I've planted herbs: coriander, mint, basil chives and parsley plus chillies in the back. The rhododendrons flowered for the first time since we're in this house. On day 7 the divers dived the wreck of the RMS Rhone off Salt Island. The water was so clear that we were able to see the shallower parts of the wreck from the boat. Andre started his holiday this morning by cleaning the whole house. I was told that I'm really not that good at cleaning...  He quickly added that I am good at cooking.  I offered to help. The tulips came to surprise us. They opened while I was away for the weekend in Germany. All red and one purple one with more pointy petals. They're so pretty and bright in our garden. I'm still making my own yoghurt at home. I actually prefer my own yoghurt now to store bought plain yoghurt.
